WHAT: The Community Tree Giveaway is KDB’s longest-running tree distribution program, held each fall to celebrate national Make a Difference Day. The program is open only to Denton residents, and participants must register in advance to receive a free 3-gallon size tree. A total of 750 trees will be distributed with eight different species available. Tree species and quantities are limited, and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of one tree per household. *Participants must be able to pick up their tree on October 21, or they forfeit their tree*

WHEN: Saturday, October 21, 8 a.m. – noon (pick-up times are assigned). Registration is required and will close once it is full.

WHERE: City of Denton Landfill at ECO W.E.R.C.S. (1527 S. Mayhill Rd. in Denton)

WHY: The Community Tree Giveaway is part of an effort to restore Denton’s urban tree canopy and provide educational information on the importance of trees in our community.For the past 19 years, this flagship KDB program has given away an average of 875 free trees each year to Denton residents.
