Being far away from a standard can be an advantage within itself. Rather than build on the past, zhOra prefer to take a step sideways for a change of perspective. Since the 2011 EP “Feet Nailed To The Ground” and 2013 full-length “Almaz”, zhOra‘s ethos has been to take themselves and anyone with them out of the comfort zone and firmly onto the road less travelled.

2016 saw zhOra reach the top of their respective mountain. After five years and countless gigs together they had the privilege of representing of representing Ireland at Wacken Open Air in Germany. A real crowning achievement and what is sure to be the beginning of a long and sludgy road that will firmly establish zhOra into Earth’s doom ridden landscape. They have also been featured in the highly acclaimed ‘Fractured’ documantary series and won the the Irish 'Metal 2 The Masses' competition to represent Ireland at the Bloodstock Festivals 2017 installment.

With their second album “Ethos, Pathos, Logos” already in the bag and due for release, zhOra are surely set for bigger things in 2017 and 2018.

Shardborne are a four- piece instrumental progressive metal band from Limerick, Ireland. Widely regarded by the underground community as Ireland's best prog metal act, the instrumental lineup was completed in 2010 when bassist Cormac O'Farrell joined the original lineup of Ciaran and Eoin Culhane (guitars) and Ben Wanders (drums).
They released their debut EP 'Aeonian Sequence' in April 2011 to critical acclaim and have toured extensively in Ireland since, sharing the stage with internationally recognized acts such as Cynic, Chimp Spanner, Russian Circles, And So I Watch You From Afar, Rotting Christ, Xerath and Thurisaz, among many more.
'The quality of the players on show with this release is quite simply brilliant!' was how Drop-d.ie summarized the E.P, saying that Irish metal has 'taken another giant step out of the shadows'.
In terms of style, Shardborne draw from a wide range of metal, prog rock and various other influences. Their mix of guitar driven melodies and complex musical structures lead to an exciting and unique sound, the twin guitar players melding lines together with interwoven bass grooves and creative technical drum beats as the band collectively skip from one timing to another and from genre to genre. Each member of Shardborne plays a very important role and all are very dedicated to the music created. The band is very hard working, and has been self sufficient since its inception.
Their entertaining live show has been seen on stages all over the country, and they are working hard to introduce their music to as broad an audience as possible.
Fast Forward to 2015 and Shardborne are happy to announce the release of their debut 'Living Bridges' will out on 10th July via Out On A Limb Records.

Partholón is based on a semi fictional character represented in Irish history & mythology. He is said to have spearheaded the second settlement of Ireland (Muintir Partholóin). He engaged in the first battle on Irish soil against the Fomorians, whom he defeated. His settlement is said to have embraced change and prospered for many years. He killed both his wifes dog & lover after tasting him on her lips. The settlement was eventually said to be decimated by plague inside a single week. No God, just life, and then, Death.

Aponym is a 4-piece progressive post-metal band from Ireland who combine the atmospherics of post metal, the riffs of prog and the soundscapes of drone. The band consists of members based in Cork, Limerick and Waterford and make atmospheric instrumental prog metal citing bands such as Mastodon, Meshuggah, Gojira, Devin Townsend, Shardborne, Russian Circles, ASIWYFA and many others as influences. The bands debut EP 'Deus Incognitus' is out now.
