Zaad is happy to announce our September Supper Club; Sayadiyeh, A Tribute to Palestinian Fishermen!

2 September 2017, Space@61,
61 Cheltenham Road, Nunhead, SE15 3AF
Lunch 12:30 - 14:00, Dinner 19:30 - 22:00

No one in Palestine cooks fish and seafood as well as people in Gaza, thanks to the amazing fishermen who face immense difficulties and restrictions due to the long term siege on Gaza, however there is always a catch to be found in the souks, and the home cooks make a cracking job to make do with whatever they find to wiz up amazing and nutritious dishes. I know that because my aunt lives there, I still remember the amazing taste of Sayadiyeh she cooked for us when I visited a long time ago in 1994!

Truth to be said, with the exception of Gazans, fish is not something Palestinians eat very often, but when we do, we really go to town and make a proper special feast out of it!

On September 2 Zaad will be cooking up a Palestinian fish feast with Sayadiyeh, a Levantine spiced rice dish cooked in fish broth and fried onion in the centre of the table, and all the traditional side dishes that come with it and more!
