Mersey River Festival in Birkenhead

The Mersey River Festival back for 2017, this FREE, family fun extravaganza is a celebration of our glorious waterfront with amazing activities and entertainment along our iconic river.

With the backdrop of the Liverpool waterfront and best views of the river beautifully framing the activities, Birkenhead will be a great place to take in the event.

The River Mersey is not just any river, it’s the beating heart of a truly special region that has been at the forefront of innovation for three centuries.

During the event, the trains will be running as normal once again so if you are planning on visiting Liverpool please note that you can take in the spectacle from both sides on the same day.

There are numerous things happening in Woodside, Birkenhead, including:
• Performances from Fishermen on Stilts
• Face painting
• Street food
• The Boogie WonderVan
• Amorini Antiques Centre are open 10-5pm all weekend and
have a Table Top Sale/Face Painting/Ice Cream Cart/Snack
Bar & Afternoon Teas.
• The Birkenhead Transport Museum trams will be running a
half hourly service between Woodside and the Museum from
12.50 until 4.30 pm.
