Northern Irish singer-songwriter Joshua Burnside just launched his debut album ‘Ephrata’. Written in a burst of a few weeks whilst living in northern Colombia, the songs dwell on questions about time, love and death in the modern age.

Balanced with a diverse palette of sounds, Burnside deftly blends alt-folk and elements of the Irish folk song tradition with South American rhythms and Eastern European influences, whilst introducing synths loops and crunching beats to create a world that shifts and swirls perspective like a lingering lucid dream.

Lauren Bird

With her self-titled debut EP scoring the number one spot on the acoustic Bandcamp chart and winning Chordblossom's Kickstart 2015, Lauren Bird is just beginning to take her place on the music scene. The singer-songwriter from Tyrone brings a sweet, slightly awkward charm to the stage whilst singing songs about the trials and tribulations of being alive. Aaron Cunningham of Chordblossom writes, "one listen to Lauren Bird’s music, whether through her tracks or her live show, is enough to showcase her instant appeal. Her personal style of songwriting marries often sad and reflective subject matter with an upbeat and happy sound.
