Fight Night presents: MALL GRAB

It was around this time last year that we first heard ‘Can’t’ and instantly fell in love. Since then Mall Grab's musical career has gone from strength to strength: releasing on quality labels and even starting his own imprint: Steel City Dance Discs. He’s proved to be a producer capable of creating an eclectic array of house music, while taking his inspirations from a far wider field: his recent ‘Catching Feelings’ samples a fairly unsung interlude by Andre 3000 (Outkast), and manages to successfully bring an entirely new meaning to the post-coital internal monologue that is ‘Where Are My Panties?’ – Mall Grab is a music lover’s dream-come-true, and we couldn’t think of anyone better to kick things off with what we hope to be the first of many more parties from us!

At Fight Night we believe music and art are inextricably linked, and it’s important that our parties reflect that. For every party we put on we will be commissioning a new artist that we’ve been interested by to create the poster for the night. We want to capture the artist’s creativity and style, so we’ve decided to give them free-reign to produce whatever they want. First up we have Ngh Mgco, a stick-and-poke tattoo artist based in Russia who we’ve been following for some time now. Supporting on the night will be us here at Fight Night but also Alex Wynne Hughes, one of the guys behind Birmingham’s Shadow City. It goes without saying Alex has the music knowledge and know-how to get a room moving.

Our venue of choice is the new Plum & Poison (previously the Rainbow Cellar and Pub). This is an intimate setting in one of the country’s most infamous clubs: The Rainbow Venues. Capacity is limited, grab a ticket quick (through the Skiddle link above), they won’t last long!
