ADHOC Ent, KeepUp, Aa & ASEAN presents Casino Royale

The room bursts into life as I am welcomed by stern, strongly built security guards. The last of the evening lights flow through me, replaced rapidly by the extravagant blaze of illumination only to be found in my homely place, the casino. Adrenaline fills my veins. Nevermind the fact that no one cares about my measly presence. I half expect brief glances as I sprightly bounce across the floor, in search something to fulfil my desires.

Perspective is the first thing you lose as you enter the Casino. Well, the second thing, after your money.

So, what will be it be today? Another night spent paving the way to my imminent bankruptcy? Or will a stroke of luck appear upon my bleak existence?

As I approach and sit in front of the roulette table, memories of melancholy cloud my judgement. I gaze over at the table and see a jumbled collection of the human race - with one purpose. Money. As I go to place my first bet a gentle hand grips my wrist firmly, the cold touch of a woman sends vibrations through my body- a feeling I have long forgone. As I turn to identify the woman, she shifts my hand towards black instead. We sit together in anxious silence, watching the wheel spin, the ball bouncing ever so meticulously against each colour. As the wheel slows down, I sigh in relief that it indeed had landed on black. Although I am looking at the wheel, I can feel her smiling at me.

“Mr Aa was it? Hi, I am Ms ASEAN”, she whispers in my ear.

“I feel like I have met you before….”, I respond but before I can finish she plants a kiss on my cheek.

When was the last time I felt these commoving emotions? Strange how the memory plays its tricks. Images and feelings dart across my mind - excitement, exhilaration; the taste of another. Her sultry smell lingered for a moment longer, I shook my head to be rid of these thoughts, I have to get out of here!

Nothing beneficial has ever come from this place. I can’t stay! But my consciousness is already shut. Did I close it? My mind begins to numb.

“Happiness was always here. You just had to learn to accept it. Follow me, let me show you the world. Let me show you the Casino Royale”
